    Miracle on South Division Street
    October 25 - December 21,  2014
Tom Dudzick's Miracle on South Division Street is a sprightly, gentle comedy, where revelations that might remake a family's sense of itself are each rolled out in service of laughter.

Miracle concerns the Nowaks, rock-solid members of the Roman Catholic, Polish-American community on the East Side of Buffalo. They've been maintaining a shrine that Grandpa Nowak built in 1943, commemorating a vision - of the Virgin Mary preaching world peace - that he said he had shortly after arriving in town and opening his barbershop.

Literally keeping the faith nearly 70 years later in the gritty, deteriorating neighborhood are his daughter, Clara, and her grown children: Jimmy, a garbage collector, Bev, a ketchup bottler, and Ruth, who would be a struggling actress if she could only get a part.

Clara long ago converted the barbershop into a kitchen for the poor, proudly offering soup "prepared on holy ground." When Ruth gathers the family to ask permission to dramatize the shrine's history, they at first applaud, then are alarmed when she adds, "I mean the true story."

              Oh, really? Do tell.

    Miracle on
           South Division Street

    By Tom Dudzick
    October 25- December 21, 2014
Meet the Nowaks of Buffalo, NY. Clara and her three grown kids have always known they were special, ever since the miraculous night in 1942 when the Blessed Mother appeared to Grandpa in his barbershop!
Since then, the neighborhood has looked upon the Nowaks' 20-foot commemorative shrine as a beacon of hope and faith amidst the urban rubble. And now daughter Ruth unveils her plan to write and star in a one-woman show about the family miracle so the "whole world will know!" However, as her plans for theatrical immortality unfold, the entire family's faith is shaken to the very core when a deathbed confession causes the family legend to unravel.
The results are heartfelt and hilarious and just in time for Christmas.
"Best comedy of the year in Connecticut!"
"A rollicking comedy where one revelation builds on another..."  ~~The Journal News

The sequel to Run for Your Wife finds the bigamist taxi driver John Smith still keeping his two families in different parts of London, both happy and blissfully unaware of each other.
However, his teenage children, a girl from one family and a boy from the other, have met on the Internet and are anxious to meet in person since they have so much in common name, surname and taxi driving dad!
Keeping them apart plunges John into a hell hole of his own making. His lodger Stanley could be a savior, but he is about to go on holiday with his decrepit old father who turns up thinking he is already at the guest house.
The situation spirals out of control as John juggles outrageously with the truth.

    Hotbed Hotel
    By Michael Parker
     March 7 - April 26, 2015
Terri and Brian Cody are hoping to sell their “One Star Hotel” in the Florida Keys, to the only man who has expressed any interest in buying it, a Mr. Sam Lewis from New York.
In order to bolster Mr. Lewis's interest, Terri and Brian devise a plan to make the hotel appear busier and more prosperous than it actually is. Their staff will masquerade as paying guests, thereby, giving Mr. Lewis the impression that the hotel is overflowing with loyal customers and vacationers.
But their plan has one hitch, as their entire staff consists of a maintenance man named Hopkins and a sexy housemaid named Maureen.

This is reprinted from our February 2011 Newsletter:

    The Origins of the
    Early Bird Dinner Theatre

    Ed Fletcher

In our very first issue of the Early Bird Newsletter, we wrote about the origins of our theatre and how Founder and Producer, Ed Fletcher, had been at the helm all along.
Now that we have had so many new patrons coming to the theatre, we thought that the story was worth repeating!
Ed Fletcher first retired at the age of forty. But a born entrepreneur like Ed does not go quietly into the world of retirement. Fletcher opened a successful Art Gallery business in the Tampa Bay area that flourished for years.
In the mid-1980's, he sold the Art Galleries and decided to write and produce his own screenplay. It was during that production that he began to discover how many talented actors there were in the Clearwater area.
After the film was produced, Ed decided that these actors needed a theatre, and another career was born. He began his search and found a man who owned three restaurants. Fletcher jumped in and opened three dinner theatres in Seminole, Dunedin and New Port Richey. Now, local actors had three venues in which to work!
When the restaurant owner retired in 1990, Ed quickly found a new venue at a banquet hall on Fort Harrison in downtown Clearwater. He built a stage and the theatre opened that same year. In fact, the very first production was the ever-successful show Social Security.

The concept behind Early Bird Dinner Theatre is a simple one that meets the needs of the patrons. Ed knew that there were a lot of people who loved getting out for dinner and seeing a show, but still wanted to get home at an early hour.
Thus, Early Bird Dinner Theatre was born.
The formula behind this simple yet very effective idea was a smash hit, and the theatre remained at the Fort Harrison location for sixteen successful years.

When the owner of that banquet hall retired, the theatre moved to its next location on McMullen Booth Road. Once again, Ed set to work to expand the stage and make improvements that would enhance productions.
Early Bird is now in its fifth successful season in our new venue.
"There's no doubt about it," said Mr. Fletcher, "if you're looking for excellent dining and exciting professional entertainment, the Early Bird Dinner Theatre is the best in the area."
After almost twenty-five years of successful productions that bring great pleasure to both patrons and local actors, Ed Fletcher should know!
Those of us who love theatre are very grateful to Ed for all his efforts to keep theatre alive and well in Tampa Bay.
